2019

I often try to model and render a New Years image. Last year, I procrastinated too much. So this year, I pushed myself to get the work done.

2019The modeling was done in LightWave 2018.0.7. I did the UV mapping in RizomUV and the texturing and rendering in Substance Painter.

This isn’t what was originally in my head as a concept. So for 2020, I will have to make sure that I give myself a lot more lead time for the work.

I am not one for making New Year’s Resolutions. They just end up getting broken. But I do hope to spend much more time with 3D software this year. LightWave 2018 added physically-based rendering (at last!); so I would like to properly marry Substance technology with LightWave. My initial LightWave render with this scene looked terrible – so I used the Iray renderer that is inside Substance Painter.
